Exhibitions

Hi! My name is Minami (Tagaki) Morris, an artist based in Tokyo. Half Japanese and half Canadian, I was born in Kawaguchiko and spent my formative years moving between countries. Living between cultures shaped how I see, and it flows naturally into my practice.

My work explores inner landscapes, identity, memory, and emotion, moving fluidly between figuration and abstraction. Much of it reflects on my early twenties, a period of self-discovery, change, and emotional growth. Each piece is a visual echo of fragmented reflections from the human psyche, expressed through bold colour, distorted forms, and intuitive gestures.
